Route Description
Our walk will take us through fields and woodland paths to the ancient Church at Wentworth. This is the final resting place of the early gentry and servants of Wentworth Woodhouse. This route will be very familiar to many members and one which I have always enjoyed.
Meeting at The Miners Arms, Warren Lane, Sheffield S35 2YD.
10 am for 10.15 am start
On reaching Hood Hill Farm via the busy Station Road there are 2 stiles to negotiate when passing through the field. The path we will follow has loose stones care needs to be taken here. There will be some pavement walking on Hood Hill before we turn into the lane to a gravel path which will take us to the church. Our return to the start and our optional debrief at the Miners Arms will be by the Coach Road and the TPT to Hood Hill then across Station Road.
The usual rules apply in the wooded area over hanging branches, tree roots and as always mud!!
Other Information
There is road parking and dogs are very welcome on the walk and in the Miners Arms. I would advise you to bring a pole if you have one as it may be muddy plus it helps on the stoney paths.
