Route Description

Woodland and Gritstone Edges

Form The Grouse Inn we drop steeply down through Hay Wood to the edge of Grindleford and the River Derwent. Here we turn south and climb through Froggatt Wood followed by Bee Wood, with some sections being quite steep. The final leg of the walk takes us up onto Froggatt Edge, which on a clear day gives us beautiful views across the valley and beyond.

Park at the layby just below the Grouse Inn on the A625 or the Haywood National Trust carpark nearby.
