Grassington: The Limestone Moorland and River Wharfe

Places remaining: 21
Route Description
A lovely walk through Grassington, onto the limestone moorland with beautiful views across the valley, then back along the River Wharfe.
From the ‘pay and display’ car park in Grassington, the route follows the cobbled street up through the town itself before heading off and following the Dales Way across fields and stiles. The path steadily ascends until a gate leads down into Bastow Wood. The path then descends towards the River Wharfe, where care must be taken on the limestone, especially in wet weather.
The route follows the river bank back into Grassington.
