Walk around Ladybower.

Places remaining: 24
Route Description
A seasonal walk around Ladybower Reservoir.
There are some super views of the old village etc as the water is so low.
We can go down and investigate, for those interested.
It is an early start due to being able to park.
We cross over the main A57 road and head up the right hand side of the reservoir.
When we get to the area of the old village we can take a closer look at the old ruins.
Carrying on the and onto the top of Derwent dam overflow, just to see how low the water is.
Tracking back down a few steps and into the cafe area at Fairholmes.
We can stop to use the facilities, bacon sandwich, cake, coffee etc and the toilets.
The walk then takes us back down the opposite side of the reservoir where there are some spectacular views of the old village.
Continuing onwards down to the dam wall and back to the start.
All are generally easy going paths.
As it is an early start we might be finished for lunchtime so a snack etc at Fairholmes might be appropriate.
