The Standedge Tunnel and Pule Hill from Marsden

Places remaining: 18
Route Description
From Marsden, we walk along the Huddersfield Canal, then high onto open moorland.
We begin the walk along the canal from Marsden train station towards the Standedge tunnel. From here, we pick up a pretty brookside path that in turn leads us onto open moorland. A long, gradual ascent leads us to a section of the Pennine Way with amazing views from the rocky ridge on a clear day.
We will have lunch on this ridge before continuing on a gradual descent towards the A62.
From here, another climb leads us to the Standedge Trail. We pass tunnel vents as we descend from Pule Hill, then emerge at a viewpoint above Marsden.
A steep descent takes us back to the A62 and then to the Standedge Tunnel and back along the towpath to the start.
