The Annual NYE Chip Butty Walk

Route Description
The best way to end the year…. a nice walk followed by a Chip Butty
Starting from the church at Grindleford, we walk towards Froggatt Bridge and take a steady climb to Froggartt Edge. The top of the path here involves some mild scrambling / big step up onto the edge. Apart from creating some hunger for the chip butty, this will give you a nice view if the weather plays ball. The rest is down hill – along Froggartt Edge, then through Hay Wood following our noses to the cafe at Grindleford Station. After satisfying our hunger, its a short walk back to the church.
Anyone who fancies a longer walk to burn off the chips can follow me to Hathersage and back.

Free on-street parking on the Main Road B6521 in Grindleford – please park considerately.
The chip butty is not compulsory – anyone not wishing to join us is welcome to end the walk before we reach the cafe.
