Porter Valley

Places remaining: 19
Route Description
A walk across woodland and moorland home to Sheffield’s industrial heritage.
This walk takes us along Porter Brook, once home to 20 mills, now a superb green corridor. Starting from Ringinglow with big views across Sheffield and the Peak District, this walk then descends the Limb Valley to Whirlow Bridge, then through Whirlow Hall Farm and across fields and lanes to Forge Dam. A gentle climb from the dam along the upper Porter Brook later gives way to the steep, wooded Porter Clough, then back through Lady Canning’s Plantation.
