Route Description

From Langsett Barn, this route combines the peaceful scenery of Langsett Reservoir with a wild moorland journey over Mickleden Edge, Margery Hill and Crow Stones.

This Langsett Reservoir and Margery Hill circular walk by Sheffield Walkers combines peaceful reservoir scenery with a superb journey across the wild open moors of the northern Peak District. Walking from Langsett Barn, the route climbs via Hingcliff Hill and Mickleden Edge to Margery Hill before crossing the dramatic gritstone country around Bull Stones, Crow Stones Edge and Outer Edge, returning through the remote upper valley of the River Porter to Langsett Reservoir. Expect big skies, dramatic gritstone scenery and extensive Dark Peak views before a scenic return along the River Porter.
