Derwent and Howden Circlular

Route Description
Derwent and Howden Dams circular walk from Fairholmes.
From Fairholmes Car Park we walk up a short incline to the top of the Derwent Dam wall where the Dambusters museum is.
We then take the winding path / road along the side of Derwent reservoir to the Howden Dam overflow and again along the winding road to the Kings Tree roundabout. We then take the track through the woods to Slippery Stones where we can take lunch.
After lunch we then thanked the track back down the opposite side of Howden dam and then the opposite side of Derwent Dam and back down to Fairholmes car park.

Parking in the car park at Fairholmes or the ones just prior.

All day is £6.60 so car share is advised.
Start 9.45 for a 10.00 am but would advise getting there earlier to aid easier parking.
Toilets at Fairholmes and coffee, tea, drinks sandwiches etc.
The walk is generally flat but is eleven miles long.
