Route Description
Our annual trip to Chatsworth Christmas Market, but we cannot guarantee the snowy scenery we had last year.
Taking the level path from the village we enter the park and begin the uphill climb onto Dobb Edge, there is one quite high, but solid, stile to negotiate. We make our way through woodland before passing close to the Hunting Tower and eventually the lakes. A forestry track winds down through Stand Woods to bring us to ‘the house’. Everyone is now free to browse the Christmas market, this will also double as our lunch/toilet break. We will determine the amount of time spent there on the day. Meeting up after our break we will make our way back through the park on lower level paths,to emerge back in the village.

Parking: On street parking in Baslow, alternatively the car park, cash or pay by phone app. PLEASE NOTE: It will be very busy, with parking spaces likely to be taken early, so please be sure to grab yours. Car sharing is a good idea.
Meeting point: Outside public toilets/bus shelter, Baslow.
Refreshments and Toilets: All facilities in Chatsworth. Toilets in Baslow at the start and end of the walk.

Sorry but Myself and Kadzi are unable to attend due to child minding commitments. Really sad to be pulling out.
BE AWARE
After doing a recce today, we are now aware of extra on-street parking restrictions in Baslow. If you are not lucky enough to bag a free space, you will need to use Nether End car park. This is pay by app/phone only, so recommend downloading the app before you get there. Car sharing very advisable.
