Calton Lees to Rowsley

Places remaining: 17
Route Description
Chatsworth Park is always a pleasure any time of year, and hopefully we’ll get to see wild deer.
Starting across parkland, which is approx. one mile of steady uphill, to reach a short stretch of woodland. Our path then opens out onto Calton Pastures (one of my favourite places), then entering Manners Wood with intermittent views through the trees towards Bakewell. We follow paths and tracks, which are muddy in places, for quite a while, then descend to Rowsley. Our lunch stop will be in the churchyard of St. Catherine’s, and from there we take the track back into Calton Lees.
Other Information
Meet 10.15 for 10.30 start at Calton Lees Car Park, which is free of charge at this time of year.
