SUMMARY:Penistone Line Trail Stage 2 – Brockholes to Denby Dale
DESCRIPTION:Route Description\nThis is Stage 2 of the Penistone Line Trail. It follows paths\, bridleways and minor roads through woodland and open countryside. There are extensive views throughout. Refer to the website; penline.co.uk for a detailed description. \nThe walk starts from the charming little station of Brockholes\, as we follow a woodland path gradually uphill\, which becomes steeper as we approach ‘Top of the Hill’. The route continues through Thurstonland for views of the dominant Emley Moor TV Mast and then a good downhill stretch to Thunder Bridge. We follow Shepley Dike fof a short distance and go through arable fields to arrive at Shepley Station.\nFlat paths through lovely countryside lead to a steady uphill to Upper Cumberworth for more fine views. The last mile is downhill to Denby Dale with views of its historic railway viaduct. \n\n\nDirections\nDirections in Google MapsDirections in Apple Maps \n\n\nOther Information\nElsecar Park and Ride – S74 9NF. Meet for 9.30. The train leaves Elsecar at 0953. You can also join the train in Sheffield 0935\, Meadowhall 0941\, Chapeltown 0947\, Penistone 1019. Arrives Brockholes 1038. Best to get a day return to Brockholes which you can use on any return train.

SUMMARY:Moss valley Round Walk
DESCRIPTION:Route Description\nA familiar walk for late Spring. Hopefully there will still be some bluebells! \nWe leave the car park beside the Bridge Inn at Ford and follow the Moss Valley before rising through woodland to meet Lady Ida’s Drive. Fields\,farms and lanes take us to Troway from whence we rise again towards Ridgeway\, Sloade Lane and best of all lunch. Fields and Bushes Wood return us to the floor of the Moss valley and back to Ford. \n\n\nOther Information\nParking in free car park beside Bridge Inn at Ford. Post Code: S12 3DY. If full\, park on Sloade Lane 150 metres up the hill toward Ridgeway.

SUMMARY:Grindleford\, Stanage Edge\, Hathersage (linear walk)
DESCRIPTION:Route Description\nThis is a Linear walk and social from Grindleford to Hathersage via Stanage Edge. \nThe walk starts at Grindleford station where we make our way up Padley Gorge to Bolehill Quarry then onto Lawrence Field. We cross the A618 and continue up to Higger Tor via Over Owler Tor. After a short break we continue up to Stanage Edge where we will break for lunch. After lunch we pass Robin Hoods cave and descend to Hathersage passing Greens Mill pond\, once a busy centre of industry for the area. On reaching Hathersage we will call into The Scotsman’s Pack Country Inn for refreshments. From here we will make our way to The Little John Hotel. After the Little John we can have Pizza at the Peak Pizza Company next door. \n*  Please note the paths on the route are generally good however be aware there is a section where we need to climb over rocks  * \n\n\nOther Information\n* We will meet at Sheffield station foyer at 9.50 and make our way to the platform at 10.00 to catch the 10.14 train to Grindleford.\n* As we will be returning from Hathersage station it is important that you buy your return from Sheffield to Hathersage.\n*. You must also purchase your train ticket before boarding the train\, either online or at the station ticket office\n*. Return trains from Hathersage are every hour at 46 minutes past the hour. \n* Please indicate in the comments box below if you would like to stop for Pizza or not
