SUMMARY:Dronfield Rotary Walk
DESCRIPTION:Route Description\nThis walk is also known as the Dronfield Millenium walk. The walk is a mixture of woodland and open field paths with a little road walking. The views keep giving on this walk. We will take our time to admire the views and have a couple of drink stops in addition to lunch. I estimate that this walk will take around 8 hours. \nThis is an undulating walk. At the time of the recee the underfoot conditions were very good. There are several stiles on the walk some are quite high others have seen better days. All the stiles are manageable with a little care.\nThe walk starts from Coal Aston and we will go clockwise on the walk. The route takes us through Troway\, Unstone\, Holmesfield and Mickley.\nA Fitbit device had the distance of this walk as 16 miles. \n\n\nRoute Map & Elevation\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDownload GPX \n\n\nOther Information\nParking is at Coal Aston Village Hall car park.\nThere is limited public transport to the start of this walk.\nDogs are welcome on the walk but must be kept on a short lead at all times as we will be close to livestock at times.\nDepending on the weather condition on the day \, please dress appropriately.\nAs this walk is likely to take approximately 8 hours \, take plenty of food and drink for the entire duration of the walk. \nRoute Website: Open external route page

DESCRIPTION:Route Description\nPlease join Fay and I on an easy but beautiful walk incorporating Wentworth Woodhouse and Scholes \nStarting from the car park at the side of the Rockingham Arms (S62 7TL W3W horizons.typed.fruity) we walk through Wentworth Park\, across the Morley Pond bridge up through open fields and the village of Scholes\, skirt Trowles woods and back up to Wentworth.\nThere are a couple of short stretches of road walking with pavements. There are no evident hazards\, and at the time of posting\, conditions under foot are safe and dry. SUMMARY:Rowsley to Stanton Moor
DESCRIPTION:Route Description\nA stiff uphill to start\, but rewarded with beautiful views. \nLeaving the car park we soon begin our steady ascent up to the Moor\,  getting the hard bit out of the way first!  The higher we climb we have increasing views towards Haddon Hall and the beautiful surrounding countryside. Then we pass through woodland to skirt Stanton in the Peak and onto the Moor\, most of the climbing is now done (honestly). We soon reach the ‘ladies’ and on to the old quarries\, where we’ll stop for our lunch. DESCRIPTION:Route Description\nA circular 8 mile walk from Haworth to Top Withens passing the Brontë Parsonage Museum\, the Brontë Falls and returning through the Penistone Hill Country Park. A shorter 5 mile version returning from the Brontë Falls is also available. \nA day excursion by Sheffield Walkers to Brontë Country named for the literary sisters who lived and wrote there. Centred around the village of Haworth\, it is characterized by heather-filled moors\, steep valleys\, and cobblestone villages that inspired classics like Wuthering Heights. Key attractions on this walk include the Brontë Parsonage Museum\, Top Withens\, and the Brontë Waterfall. \nThe coach will leave from opposite the library at Chapeltown at 0830 returning at 1930. \nTwo walks will be available. From Haworth\, we will walk to the Brontë Falls where we will stop for lunch. From here\, the group will split into two walks. Those opting for a shorter 5 mile walk will return to Haworth\, while the rest will continue to the ruins at Top Withens before returning to Haworth. DESCRIPTION:Route Description\nDerwent and Howden Dams circular walk from Fairholmes. \nFrom Fairholmes Car Park we walk up a short incline to the top of the Derwent Dam wall where the Dambusters museum is.\nWe then take the winding path / road along the side of Derwent reservoir to the Howden Dam overflow and again along the winding road to the Kings Tree roundabout. We then take the track through the woods to Slippery Stones where we can take lunch.\nAfter lunch we then thanked the track back down the opposite side of Howden dam and then the opposite side of Derwent Dam and back down to Fairholmes car park. \n\n\nOther Information\nParking in the car park at Fairholmes or the ones just prior.\nRough post code S33 0AQ\nAll day is £6.60 so car share is advised.\nStart 9.45 for a 10.00 am but would advise getting there earlier to aid easier parking.\nToilets at Fairholmes and coffee\, tea\, drinks sandwiches etc.\nThe walk is generally flat but is eleven miles long.

SUMMARY:Penistone Line Trail Stage 2 – Brockholes to Denby Dale
DESCRIPTION:Route Description\nThis is Stage 2 of the Penistone Line Trail. It follows paths\, bridleways and minor roads through woodland and open countryside. There are extensive views throughout. Refer to the website; penline.co.uk for a detailed description. \nThe walk starts from the charming little station of Brockholes\, as we follow a woodland path gradually uphill\, which becomes steeper as we approach ‘Top of the Hill’. The route continues through Thurstonland for views of the dominant Emley Moor TV Mast and then a good downhill stretch to Thunder Bridge. We follow Shepley Dike fof a short distance and go through arable fields to arrive at Shepley Station.\nFlat paths through lovely countryside lead to a steady uphill to Upper Cumberworth for more fine views. DESCRIPTION:Route Description\nAn evening stroll from opposite the church in Wortley\, through farmland and woodland and onto Wharncliffe Crags. If the weather is good\, there are fine views towards Deepcar and beyond. \nFrom Wortley\, we head towards the rugby pitches on Finkle Street\, crossing the road and then heading across farm tracks towards the crags. Wooded paths open out onto rocky crags\, offering fine views. We then drop back into the woods\, heading towards the old railway line for a short section before passing through the equestrian centre and back to the start. \n\n\nOther Information\nPark opposite the church in Wortley on Park Avenue.

DESCRIPTION:Route Description\nThis is a Linear walk and social from Grindleford to Hathersage via Stanage Edge. \nThe walk starts at Grindleford station where we make our way up Padley Gorge to Bolehill Quarry then onto Lawrence Field. We cross the A618 and continue up to Higger Tor via Over Owler Tor. After a short break we continue up to Stanage Edge where we will break for lunch. After lunch we pass Robin Hoods cave and descend to Hathersage passing Greens Mill pond\, once a busy centre of industry for the area. On reaching Hathersage we will call into The Scotsman’s Pack Country Inn for refreshments. From here we will make our way to The Little John Hotel. DESCRIPTION:Route Description\nA varied circular walk from the Longshaw / Fox House area\, heading onto White Edge and the open moorland of Totley Moor and Big Moor before returning through the quieter paths around Stoke Flat\, Nether Padley and Upper Padley. The route combines wide Peak District views\, gritstone edge scenery\, open heathland\, woodland and field paths. \nStarting from Longshaw\, this route by Sheffield Walkers heads out towards White Edge\, quickly gaining the open moorland feel with broad views across Totley Moor and Big Moor\, with exposed paths\, big skies and classic Dark Peak scenery. \nThe route continues to deliver big views from Curbar and Froggatt Edges before picking up quieter tracks and paths towards Nether Padley. The final section climbs gently back to Longshaw using a mix of woodland and field paths.
