Route Description
A pleasant easy group walk taking us along the Tinsley Canal before visiting the Blackburn Meadows Nature Reserve. It is a hidden gem home to birds, beautiful trees and plants.
Our meeting point will be on the concourse outside the Steel Foundry Wetherspoons at Meadowhall Shopping Centre. Where the optional debrief will take place after the walk.The route will take us along the path at the side of the River Don before joining the Tinsley Canal. On reaching the Nature Reserve we will follow the inner circular path hopefully the signs of Spring will be in full swing.Our return to the starting point and optional debrief will be via the canal and a cycle path
There is a little pavement walking with two pedestrian crossings. The paths are good but there may be tree roots in the reserve.
Other Information
There is plenty of free parking in the car parks at Meadowhall. Please note that there is a parking restriction of 7 hours a week ( if you’re anything like me I don’t do that in a year!!) Good transport via buses and trams from Sheffield and other areas
