Route Description

A walk around the two adjoining reservoirs laying between Wharncliffe side and and Deepcar. The entrance to the private road(unnamed lane) is on the A6102, Manchester Road, opposite Ewden water treatment works. Take the private road to the left, follow this to the Dam wall. This walk is fairly flat, partly on private roads and partly through woodland bordering the reservoirs with a little road walking at the far end of Broomhead Reservoir. The paths directly at the side of the reservoirs can be uneven with protruding tree roots and can be muddy in places.
